Justin Trudeau Faces Uncertainty: Resignation Rumors Surface Amid Party Pressure

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is reportedly facing extreme uncertainty about his political future. Amid growing calls for his resignation within his party, reports suggest that Trudeau may step down as the leader of the Liberal Party as early as Monday. This information comes from The Globe and Mail, citing three unnamed sources.

The sources told The Globe and Mail that they are unsure exactly when Trudeau will announce his resignation. However, it is speculated that he may step down before a significant meeting scheduled for Wednesday.

When asked for confirmation, the Prime Minister's Office did not respond. It is also unclear whether Trudeau will remain as Prime Minister until a new leader is elected or resign immediately.

Trudeau has been leading the Liberal Party of Canada since 2013 and became the country’s Prime Minister in 2015, serving in the role for nine years. However, in recent years, he has faced mounting challenges, particularly on economic issues.

The crisis escalated after Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland resigned in December last year, reportedly due to disagreements with Trudeau. Freeland, once a close ally of Trudeau, left a significant void in the government.

Now, with increasing internal and external pressures, Trudeau appears to be on the verge of stepping down as leader of the Liberal Party.
